Colours & Observations

So I went to my first ever "Colours Night" last night. It was also one of my very first "Nights out", where I go over to UniBar or wherever & watch other people drink, being that I don't myself. I've been to smaller events before, but last night was probably the biggest one I've been to. It also reminded me why I don't frequent these events. While there I made a few observations:
  1. I didn't appear to be the only one not having fun. Every second person there, looked either bored, really unsure & insecure about themselves or lonely. (Music too high to talk properly) The other half where hammered enough to not care. (This point was later reinforced by the fact that random people where joining in a game of beer-can hacky)
  2. So soon after I noticed this me & a couple of mates when just outside to take a breather. It was a very mild and nice night for doing this. While out there, I noticed that by far the majority of people outside where wearing white. White being the colour of First years. So these people I concluded, from their body-language etc, were the first years that where at the party cos that's where you where supposed to be. Yet they couldn't hack the pace, or plain felt really uncomfortable & didn't like what was going on inside.
  3. (This one was by Sus) There where no water or soft-drink prices on the bar. Which I guess makes sense because they wouldn't make much money on them.
Who knows? Maybe if I didn't have a God who loves me infintely I would buy one of those pubs. Then I could create my own completely boring environment, where the possibility for any meaningful personal interaction is removed by loud electronic noises (as opposed to music) and all my patrons insecurities about their own selves can be on show for everyone to see. I could then promote my venue as the "hottest new rave club in town"& get societies future workforce & leadership to pay me to enter my venue so they can pay me to drink a drink that makes them lose all sensibilities (as well as making them thirstier) so they can pay me to drink some more.

They have beaten me, but I did not feel it.
When shall I awake, that I may seek another drink?|”

It's similar to traffic light party except it works on what year of uni ur in. So this year it was:
White - First Years.
Red - Second Years
Green - Third Years (me)
Black - Fourth Years
Yellow - RAs
Rainbow - Internationals

Postgrads generally don't attend Undergrad events, you know being way too cool and everything.
But the 5th year I knew, wore black, as I guess any postgrads would.
